A question arises when we hear about some accounts getting hacked. But we simply move on without trying to keep our account secure.

Is Facebook really safe..?? Yes it is if you are aware. Facebook's security has improved a lot these days but still there are possibilities of Getting Hacked...

So safeguard yourself. If you Manage a Page and you Have more than 50K likes then this post is for you.

This Happened to Me. I was one of the Managers of the page "Youngsters-The Future of India". The page was going well and page managers you know how hard is to develop a page without posting anything funny.
With great efforts we were able to reach 25K likes. But suddenly one day one of the Managers account was hacked. The hacker promoted himself as the Manager of the Page and removed all other managers including me.Fortunately we recovered the account. But The page was lost.

For those who think that why pages were hacked here is the info. There are several black markets where you can sell pages for Money. Though Big amounts are not involved pages are sold for recharges ranging from INR 100 to INR 1000. There are even groups for these in Facebook. That's why Page Managers are more prone for getting Hacked.

Here are the Steps to protect your account.

Step 1 : Enable Login Notifications and Text Messaging

Almost everybody have enabled this feature. This feature helps us to identify when some unknown user logins from a different IP. We will receive a text Notification and a Mail at the time of Login.

Here are the steps : Account settings ->Security

Also "Enable Secure Browsing"

Step 2 : Set up "Trusted Contacts"

Everybody must set up the "Trusted contacts". Do you know if somebody has three mutual friends It's enough for them to hack your account. Enabling this feature protects you from being hacked by this way.

Everybody can have a maximum of 5 Trusted contacts. After setting up the person whom you selected will receive a notification regarding this.

Be sure to select only the persons you Trust the Most. Because in case your account is hacked facebook will send codes to recover your account to these contacts on request.

Step 3 : Don't open or use Apps

Facebook apps can simply get all of your information easily. Sometimes fake apps were developed just to install "keyloggers" which will record the keystrokes of your PC. So beware while using apps.

Step 4 : Set up a Secret Manager

This is the Most important one. Page Managers create another account for yourself and make it as page manager. Then deactivate that account. So now in your page's "Admin panel" this deactivated account will not be shown.

In case your page gets hacked. "Simply reactivate your account". You'll still have the admin rights to that page. Kick off those nasty Hackers.

It is better to have one or More secret Managers.

Aliter Method to set a secret Manager

Create a new e-mail id which is not linked with any of the facebook accounts. Then from the "Manage admin roles" tab add this e-mail id as manager. Facebook will ask whether to invite and add.

If your page get's hacked just use the invitation in your mail and create a new account and you'll have the rights to that page. Then it's your showtime. Get your page back.

Don'ts :

Don't reveal yourself in your page posts. That's a good way.

Don't ignore if you are getting notification about a suspicious login

Don't promote unknown persons to Managers

Many people out there who has bought laptops recently are facing these problems and I too got stuck into that.

Step 3: In that change the scaling option from "Maintain aspect ratio" to "Scale Full Screen". If it is already in "Scale Full Screen" then change it once and change it back to "Scale Full screen". Then apply and save the settings...

Note : For those who dont know about encryption. A short intro for you.

If you want to send some inforamtion to your friend privately. U can send it by using Encryption. When you encrypt a file or data the encrypting software splits or re arranges the file in such a way that no one can read it. You'll need a special keyword to decrypt the file.

At current position the most popularly used encryption is "Public Key Encryption" in which two keys are generated one is the public key which can published to anyone and the second is the Private key which shouldnot be published.

If I want you to send me a message privately then I'll a generate both the keys and will send the public key to you. Using that you can encrypt your mail and send it to me. Then i'll decrypt it using the Private key which I already have.

PS : Both the Public and Private keys are mathematically related but only with the knowledge of a public key it's extremely hard to find a private key

Many are facing problems from viruses and we get irritated when we are unable to remove. In recent days I experienced a critical virus which shutdowns all anti virus programs.
Here are the steps to remove that virus.

Introduction

I had AVG Internet Security 2012 and Malwarebytes for removing viruses and malwares. But after my PC get affected by that virus when ever I open Anti Virus programs it will close automatically.

I noticed a pattern in this. Even if a website contains a word Virus it closes the browser itself. Programs like CCleaner will also close.

So I just renamed the CCleaner's exe file to Game.exe. You can rename it to anyother which doesnt contain the term virus. Then I opened the CCleaner using the renamed file and found out the startup entry and deleted it. But that Nasty Virus re entered itself.

So opened the Registry editor and tried to edit the registry value of that virus... Really genius (!!!!) virus.. It Closed that too -_-

Clean the Virus

And Finally I found a way to remove that Virus.. Download Combofix from

Copy it and paste it in your desktop

Now Again paste the same file in your desktop with the Name Game

Refer the Image for better understanding

Now run the program by double clicking the renamed File.

It will took some time possibly it will took upto 15 Minutes. And It'll submit a report

While the process is going on it will ask to Shutdown all the running antivirus programs.
As we cannot even open the Anti Virus program User Interface just click ok

Then the Program will start running..
Ignore any threats that your antivirus program shows while the program is Ongoing.

After the Process is completed. Reboot ypur system and Run your Anti virus program it'll work Fine.

I Run my AVG and Found some more Viruses
Malwarebytes detected 532 Infections.

That's it Reboot and Enjoy. U have removed the Virus

Recently a program was held on computer hacking. The program's objective was to hack the latest and one of the famous mobile operating system "Android". At first the competitors were not able to hack the OS. But at the second competition that was conducted the competitors were able to hack the OS and even to bring the control of all the features available on the smart phone containing that OS. They were able to use the smart phone as a spy.

A simple example is the hackers used the camera and GPS ( Global Positioning System) to find the exact location of the mobile and were able to know the activities of the owner of the mobile.

Some others even used the advanced features of the mobile such as Sensors including the accelerometer and Proximity sensors.

A smart phone was placed near a keyboard. It's accelerometer sensor usually detects vibrations. These vibrations were used to find out the keystrokes of the keyboard and the results matched almost 80%. That  is the hackers were able to find the keystrokes with 80% accuracy.

If the good people can hack this OS at this moment it wont take much time for the bad ones to do the same as in this information age even the bad ones are matching up their intelligence with good people. So, It's now the time for the OS makers to built the OS more secure.

Can we Convert a One GB Memory card into a  2GB memory card....??? - Yes we can...!!!!!

Some people are still using one GB memory cards in their cell phones. The following steps will 

show you how to convert a one GB memory card into 2 GB card..

1. This trick will work only on 1 GB memory cards. So try to avoid using memory cards of other 

capacity.

2. Before going into the trick, backup ur memory card contents in your computer.

3. Download the Software Skimedi fix 2 GB capacity.

4. Open the software downloaded.

5. After opening the software it'll show as 955 MB by default so use only 1 GB cards.

6. Now connect your card to your pc.

7. Select Fix and then select yes.

8. All the contents of your card will get erased and your memory card will be converted into 2 

GB memory card....

9. Now disconnect and reconnect your Memory card. It'll show as 1912 MB. That's all.....

As the size of hardrives increase, more people are using partitions to seperate and store groups of files.

XP uses the C:\Program Files directory as the default base directory into which new programs are installed. However, you can change the default installation drive and/ or directory by using a Registry hack.

Go to run 

Type regedit and enter

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Look for the value named ProgramFilesDir. by default,this value will be C:\Program Files. Edit the value to any valid drive or folder and XP will use that new location as the default installation directory for new programs.

Access blocked websites by using the https version of its Google cache. It’s like a free https proxy from Google and very fast loading.


In most colleges and schools, the content of certain sites is blocked using filters or firewalls. Normally in such case, most of us use free web proxies or vpn services. But most of these web proxy services are either slow or already blocked by the firewall and VPN servers are charging heavily per bandwidth.


The best method to try out in this case is by using google’s https cache service. This cache is linked directly to the secured https version of the site’s content in google servers. [you can access the google cache of any site by searching for cache:example.com in the search box]


HTTPS version could be added by entering an ‘s’ after the http cache url or you can download an extension for google chrome which converts all google cache link to its secured version.
